ADMISSIONS

The standard intake into our Reception class is 20 pupils, as decided by the Derbyshire

County Council who co-ordinate admissions to all Derbyshire Schools. Essentially the Authority acts as a ‘clearing house’ for all admissions and enables parents to express their preference.

The Governors have adopted the Derbyshire County Council policy for Admissions and a copy is available in school.

Admission priority

Priority is determined as follows:-

Children in care of the Local Authority

Children living in the normal area served by the school, including those living in an area governed by a different Authority.

Children who do not live in the normal area served by the school but who have brothers and/or sisters already attending the school at the time of admission.

Other children whose parents have requested a place. This will be determined by the children who live nearest to school – measured by nearest available route – being given preference.

We are always pleased to show prospective parents around the school so do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a convenient time for a visit. All prospective parents are also invited to make an appointment to visit the school (please contact the school for further information).

Each year the school hosts an Open Evening where any prospective parents can meet the staff and find out a bit more about our school. Please see the school website/Facebook page for the 2022 date.
